چکیده

Spectral lag, which is defined as the difference in time of arrival of high and low energy photons, is a common feature in Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs). Previous investigations have shown a correlation between this lag and the isotropic peak luminosity for long duration bursts. However, most of the previous investigations used lags extracted in the observer-frame only. In this work (based on a sample of 43 Swift long GRBs with known redshifts), we present an analysis of the lag-luminosity relation in the GRB source-frame. Our analysis indicates a higher degree of correlation −0.82±0.05 (chance probability of ∼ 5.5×10) between the spectral lag and the isotropic peak luminosity, Liso, with a best-fit power-law index of −1.2 ± 0.2, such that Liso ∝ lag. In addition, there is an anti-correlation between the source-frame spectral lag and the source-frame peak energy of the burst spectrum, Epk(1 + z).

Spectral Lags and the Lag-Luminosity Relation: An Investigation with Swift BAT Gamma-ray Bursts

Spectral lag, the time difference between the arrival of high-energy and low energy photons, is a common feature in Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs). Norris et al. 2000 reported a correlation between the spectral lag and the isotropic peak luminosity of GRBs based on a limited sample. More recently, a number of authors have provided further support for this correlation using arbitrary energy bands of va...

Luminosity Correlations for Gamma-ray Bursts and Implications for Their Prompt and Afterglow Emission Mechanisms

We present the relation between the (z− and k−corrected) spectral lags, τ , for the standard Swift energy bands 50 − 100 keV and 100 − 200 keV and the peak isotropic luminosity, Liso (a relation reported first by Norris et al.), for a subset of 12 long Swift GRBs taken from a recent study of this relation by Ukwatta et al. The chosen GRBs are also a subset of the Dainotti et al. sample, a set o...

Rest frame light curves of Swift GRBs

— We have computed the luminosity rest frame light curves of the first 40 Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) detected by Swift with well established redshift. We studied average properties of the light curves in the four subsamples of bursts given by z < 1, 1 < z < 2, 2 < z < ∼ 4, and z > ∼ 4. We conclude that all the last three subsamples share the same morphology and the same luminosity range. Very high...

Grb 050717: a Long, Short-lag, High-peak Energy Burst Observed by Swift and Konus

The long burst GRB 050717 was observed simultaneously by the Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) on Swift and the Konus instrument onWind. Significant hard to soft spectral evolution was seen. Early gamma-ray andX-ray emission was detected by both BAT and the X-Ray Telescope (XRT) on Swift. The XRT continued to observe the burst for 7.1 days and detect it for 1.4 days. The X-ray light curve showed a cl...

Time-evolution of Peak Energy and Luminosity Relation within Pulses for GRB 061007: Probing Fireball Dynamics

We perform a time-resolved spectral analysis of bright, long Gamma-ray burst GRB 061007 using Suzaku/WAM and Swift/BAT. Thanks to the large effective area of the WAM, we can investigate the time evolution of the spectral peak energy, E peak and the luminosity L t iso with 1-sec time resolution, and we find that the time-resolved pulses also satisfy the Epeak −Liso relation, which was found for ...
